Professional expertise: Scientific Exploration from Space
Space has become an essential element of the contemporary world.
The scientific exploration of space was at the origin of all current space endeavours and has brought spectacular results that
have led to many fundamental scientific discoveries. In astrophysics, space based telescopes have opened up the full electromagnetic
spectrum for diagnostics on the origin and evolutionary history of our Universe. My scientific involvement was mainly focussed on the
development of instrumental tools for observational X-ray astronomy, in particular for X-ray spectroscopy of hot cosmic plasmas.
