SAX ready for transportation to the launching pad
The storage can shows the Italian and Dutch flags and the logo's of the Italian Space Agency ASI and the Netherlands Space Agency.

Test mount at ESTEC, Noordwijk
The uncovered satellite (top of picture) is shown wrapped in thermal foils. It is placed on top of a service module (the large square structure). The vertical tubes are the X-ray telescopes which view in the vertical (top) direction. The two Wide Field Cameras (silver color) view in two mutually opposing directions, perpendicular to the direction of the Narrow Field Instruments.
